Citing Sources

When compiling a literature review or writing a research paper, you will need to cite your sources. After finding your citations in SocINDEX or JSTOR you can send the citations directly to Refworks and then create a bibliography in any of the citation styles or formats such as APA, MLA or ASA.   Most students in Sociology classes either use the American  Psychological Association (APA) style or the American Sociological Association (ASA) style format, both of which are available in RefWorks.  If you need to refer to a style manual, those are kept at the Reference Desk in Foley or at the Reserves/Circulation Desk for limited checkout.

American Sociological Association Style Guide, REF DESK HM 569.A54 2007 (3rd edition)

Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, REF DESK BF 76.7.P83 2010 (6th edition)
