Tutorials: Welcome to Foley Library!

Learn how to use library resources, do research and more!

Welcome to Foley Center Library!

The short tutorials in the Library Overview box will get you started. Take an Online Library Orientation (OLO) to get more comfortable using the variety of library resources. The tabs across the top of this guide provide additional instructions and when you need help, use the chat box, make an appointment, or give us a call. We are here to help!

HOW DO I...?

Foley Library has a wide range of resources that you can use for your research. The above video gives a brief overview of what's available. You can also check out the "Library Website" tab at the top for more detailed information. The PDF file, below, also give some basic information.

Still have questions? Use one of the tabs on the side to contact us!

In general, you will use our Databases (one of the the tiles on the homepage) to search for articles. The above video shows some basic search options in Academic Search Complete (one of our most popular databases). If you aren't sure which Database to use, the Research Guides (tile on the main page) can get you started. You can also use the "Articles" tab at the top of the page (or linked below).

Still have questions? Use the options on the right side of the page to contact us and we'd be happy to help!

You can use Primo (the red search box on the home page) to search for books and e-books. You can also use Interlibrary Loan to request books that Foley doesn't own. Check out the link below for more detailed information.

Do you still have questions? Just use the info on the side to contact us!

Learning to use RefWorks is easy! The video above provides a very basic introduction to RefWorks, and you can find more videos at the RefWorks YouTube Channel:

You can also refer to the RefWorks tab or link below for more information.

This page (link above) provides information on student jobs at Foley, as well as information about who to contact with questions.

You can access most library resources with the same username and password you use to sign in to Zagmail and Blackboard. If you are on the campus network, you won't even need to sign in! But some library resources have different log-ins.

The chart below shows you our resources and and what you use to sign in. The blanks mean you make your own username and password for that resource. There's also a printable version of the chart so you can write down your usernames and passwords if you need to (just make sure you keep it in a safe place!)

This image is a chart showing how you sign in to different resources.

You can use the chat box or contact information to the right to get help from one of our librarians--you can also visit the help desk on the main floor of Foley Center Library. We'd be happy to help you!

Below is a link to a more detailed contact list and a link to make an appointment with one of our librarians to get research help.
