Foley Library locks to the public at 7 pm on weeknights and 6 pm on weekends. That means that during your shifts (typically 9 pm - 2 am), the only people entering the building should be Gonzaga-affiliates (students, faculty, or staff). Anyone else needs to come back during regular visitor hours when we are fully open to the public.
During the late-night hours, it is especially important to keep an eye on the front doors. For that reason, we ask our Late Night Grad Leads to station themselves at the front-facing computer of the Information Desk, which has a clear view of the doors. Make sure you are greeting people as they enter the building and that you remain approachable for anyone who has questions.
Door Locking Issues
If the doors are unlocked past closing time (or if the doors lock too early), call Campus Security at x2222 from any desk phone or 509-313-2222 from your cell phone. Explain that the doors need to be locked or unlocked (NOTE: the inner doors are referred to as the "Inner Vestibule Doors," and the outer doors are referred to as the "Exterior Public Doors."
