Foley Library User Services Training Guide

Floor Counts

What are floor counts and why do we do them?

Floor counts are just what they sound like-- walking each floor and counting how many people you encounter.

Floor counts are important to the library because they track patron information that helps the administration decide how many people need to be working during certain times, when the busiest hours at the library are, and what sections students prefer to study in.

Whenever you are assigned to do "Floor Count" during your shift, please try to do so with accuracy. If you need help with tracking your counting, we have a click counter located at the Circulation Desk.

How to access the Floor Count form

Using your phone, scan the floor count QR codes on either the sides or on the back of the circulation computers. If you do not have a smart phone, please let a supervisor know and we can make alternate arrangements.
