Office Supplies
We can give or lend office supplies to patrons--most of the time these will not need to be checked out to the patrons, unless it is a specialized item kept in our ready reserves (examples of these include calculators, decorative hole punches, and charging cables.)
For non-specialized office supplies, please use the following guidelines. If you are not sure about something, ask a supervisor!
Some office supplies are available for patrons at the tables across from the printers, including staplers and a paper cutter. Familiarize yourself with these supplies so that you can direct patrons to them when they ask. If you notice that the supplies in the organizers are running low (pens, glue sticks, etc.) please let a supervisor know so we can refill them.
We can always give patrons small items such as pens, paperclips, or index cards, if we have them available in the circ supply cupboard. Try to only give the patrons as many as they will need--index cards in particular are very popular and we often run out.
We have whiteboard markers and rags to use as whiteboard erasers at the circ desk. Ask patrons to make sure to bring these items back to the circ desk when they are done, as they tend to disappear quickly.
For larger items such as scissors, it's helpful to ask the patron to stay in the area of the circ desk while using them so we can make sure we get them back.
Sometimes patrons will ask us for envelopes. Although we have envelopes at the circ desk, most (or all) of our envelopes will have the Gonzaga logo printed on the front. We cannot give GU-branded envelopes to patrons for safety and liability reasons.
