Printing
The library has four MFPs (Multi-Function Printers). Three are on the main floor of Foley, and one is in the atrium. The printer in the atrium can be accessed 24/7 by GU students, faculty, and staff.
Library patrons can print directly from library computers (File --> Print), or use Wireless Print to upload documents to the print queue. They can access Wireless Print by visiting Foley’s homepage and selecting “Printing.”
Printing for GU-affiliated patrons
Any GU-affiliated patron who wishes to print in the library needs a Zagcard. Tapping their Zagcard on the printer’s black card reader will release the print job.
GU-affiliated patrons patrons also need Bulldog Bucks on their accounts to be able to print. We cannot take cash at the desk to add Bulldog Bucks to patron accounts. All of that must be done online. Patrons can add as little as $1.00 to their Bulldog Bucks account at one time.
Sometimes, a student will approach the desk and say that they are out of Bulldog Bucks and don't have time to add more before printing. You can assure them that adding money is quick and takes effect immediately. We cannot give out free printing, as the library is charged for all overridden print jobs.
Printing for Community Patrons
Any non-GU affiliated patron who accesses the building has the option to print in Foley, including Alumni, Visiting Summit Patrons, as well as patrons with or without a Community Borrower Card. You also must manually override community patron print jobs (a supervisor must be involved, as this includes collecting money from the community patron in order to release the print job).
Manually Overriding in Papercut
Occasionally, an error will happen and you will need to force through a print job for someone. You can do this by accessing PaperCut (the program we use to monitor all print jobs). PaperCut is saved at all Chrome tab browsers.
To force through a print job, select the print job from the print queue. Change “No Charge” to “Admin Override.” Next, select the printer where you would like the print job to be released (only use the Foley printers – Main Floor East, West, Middle, or Atrium).
Scanning
GU-affiliated patrons can also scan to email or OneDrive using the MFPs. Scanning is free.
One of our visitor terminals has one flatbed scanner for community patrons who wish to scan. Please do your best to assist patrons with guest scanning, and flag down a supervisor if you have any issues.
Copying
GU-affiliated patrons can also copy items using the MFPs. The cost for copying is the same as for printing.
Copying for non-GU patrons is a bit more complicated. You will need to get a supervisor involved to assist with guest copying.
Common Issues for Printing from Patrons
GU-Students will come up to the desk and mention that they are low on bulldog bucks. You can direct them to Google and have them type in Gonzaga bulldog bucks. Have the patron fill out the form. The patron does not need to put 25 dollars. There is another option for them to add $5 for example for their print job.

WiFi Issues
PaperCut, our printing system, is configured to only work from on-campus. Our "Guest WiFi" is considered off-campus WiFi.
Occasionally, GU-students will have trouble accessing PaperCut printing portal on their laptop. Your first step in troubleshooting is to ask them if they are on the Gonzaga Community or Gonzaga Guest WiFi. If they are on the Gonzaga Guest WiFi, have them switch to Gonzaga Community WiFi. If it still not working, direct them to the computers by the printers and have them login to a wired machine there to complete their print job. Students do not need to upload documents to PaperCut from wired computers in the library-- instead they can just navigate to "File --> Print."
