Interlibrary Loan & ILLiad: For Distant/Online Users

Getting Materials

We welcome the use of ILL by our distant and online patrons!

Books and other loaned materials:

Please keep in mind that mailing times can be long. It can take up to two weeks for us to get the items from the lending library, plus the time it takes after we mail the item to you. If an item appears to have been lost in the mail, please let us know as soon as you become aware of it.

On occasion (especially for Canadian residents) items may already be due or overdue by the time you receive it. If this is the case, please call us right away at 509-313-3824 and we will make every effort to renew the item for you.

Because we use electronic document delivery for ILL articles, most requests are filled within 2 business days. You will receive an email informing you that the item is available for download. Log into your ILLiad account and follow the steps to retrieve your PDF.

If you would like a copy of an article located in our print journals, on microfilm or fiche, or a chapter of a book owned by Foley Library, submit a request just as you would for ILL. We will make a scan of the article/chapter and deliver it to you in the same way as an ILL article.
