Filipino-American Association of the Inland Empire: On June 12, 1987, the Filipino American Association of the Inland Empire was registered, certified, and incorporated as a non-profit organization by the Secretary of State in Washington State. There were approximately 40 to 50 Filipino members in the first few years. FAAIE's mission is to preserve and promote Filipino culture and heritage in the Spokane community.

Filipino American Northwest Association: Founded in 2018 by Jacqueline Babo, the Filipino American Northwest Association is a non-profit serving Spokane, Coeur d'Alene, and surrounding areas. FANA's mission is to unite Filipino Americans in the Inland Northwest by celebrating their culture, fostering community, and promoting diversity.

It is important to implement anti-racist practices and ideologies into our daily lives. Here on the Gonzaga campus, we make it one of our priorities to promote anti-racist learning and education that protects the rights of all people in our community.

Charity Bagatsing: Publisher, event organizer and Asian immigrant historian
In 1991, Charity Bagatsing came to Spokane from Manila, Philippines at age 21. The historical work she helped uncover focused on themes of migration, labor, and community. She helped showcase how Asian immigrants "provided the muscle that helped to develop the region" of the Pacific Northwest, filling a key labor need.
Artist and former educator Gatieh Nacario has created murals and other artworks celebrating both his Filipino heritage and his new Spokane home. Notable works include a mural in the Garland District Art Alley.
Ben Cabildo, who immigrated from the Philippines and now lives in Spokane, co-founded the Multi-Ethnic Business Association (MEBA) to help minority business owners start and expand their businesses. He drew on his experience of having started three small businesses as a child in the Philippines. He has been recognized by Spokane Leadership with the Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award.
Spokane's United We Stand hosted in honor of Filipino American Month a celebration and open house. Hosted in Liberty Lake the festival ocurred October 18, 2025.
