Computer Access and Policy

CURRENT GONZAGA STUDENTS FACULTY AND STAFF

Any use of Foley Center Library computers must comply with Gonzaga University's Acceptable Use Policy

These Foley Library computers are available for use by current Gonzaga students, faculty, and staff:

  • Computers in the public areas of the main floor and lower level
  • Laptops at the Circulation Desk may be checked out.
    • MacBooks may be checked out for  4 hours at a time for library building use only.
    • PC laptops may be checked out for 24 hours at a time, and may leave the library.

Current Gonzaga Students - log in to library computers with the same username and password used to access ZagMail. 

Current Gonzaga Faculty and Staff - log in to library computers with the same username and password used to log in to office computers and Gonzaga email.

VISITORS AND GONZAGA ALUMNI

There are four library computers which are reserved for use by Gonzaga alumni and other visitors to campus.

  • Any use of the public access computers must be in compliance with Gonzaga University’s Acceptable Use Policy.
  • The computers are available the following hours during the semester, hours may be reduced during holidays and breaks:

Monday - Friday             8 am to 4:45 pm

Saturdays - Sundays      1 pm - 4:45 pm

  • Visitors must sign in at the Information Desk and get a PIN from the Information Desk staff.
  • Use of the public access computers is limited to one hour per day.

SCHOLARLY ACCESS - STUDENTS AND FACULTY FROM OTHER INSTITUTIONS

A current student or faculty member from another institution may request access to library computers for an extended period of time for the purpose of doing scholarly research. Any use of Foley Center Library computers must be in compliance with Gonzaga University’s Acceptable Use Policy.

Permission for access will be reviewed by the Chair of Public Services, Kelly Jenks jenks@gonzaga.edu

  • Please complete the required form and provide details on the research project.
  • To access library computers, a current ID must be shown to the Reference Desk staff.  
  • Library staff will handle the log in process. No usernames or passwords will be provided.

There is no time limit, but if the computer is needed by a member of the Gonzaga community, the guest may be asked to log out.

The following software is available on Foley Library Computers, if you need assistance locating these computers please ask at the reference desk. 

  • The full Microsoft suite is available on all library PCs and Macs
    • Word

  • The full Adobe Suite is available on five library transfer stations, located on the first floor of the buildging to the south of the information desk.

  • SPSS Statistics is available on Library thin clients located on the main and second floors and in the main floor library instruction lab located on the west end of the building.
  • Audacity is available in the main floor library instruction lab.
