Training Offered Through Foley

In addition to research appointments and support, Foley librarians also offer one-on-one or group training in the following areas:

Schedule Citation Management with Zotero or Library Resource Training

  • Citation Management with Zotero or Library Resource Training: meet with a librarian to learn citation management using Zotero,
  • Library Resource Training & Research Assistance: meet with a librarian and learn how to best utilize library resources for your research needs.

Schedule IR Training

  • Gonzaga Institutional Repository: The institutional repository is a service of Foley Library to collect, share, and showcase the scholarly and creative work of Gonzaga University faculty, staff, students, and their collaborators from around the world. Faculty and departments can schedule a 15-30 minute training session to learn about the ways that the IR can support their research, pedagogy, and work. See examples from the IR, a demonstration of the IR dashboard and metrics, and have your questions answered.

Request Digital Scholarship Training

  • Digital Scholarship & Digital Humanities Projects: meet with a librarian to discuss ideas for digital projects in your research or classroom. This training begins as a discussion of options and feasibility, and can involve multiple sessions to build the starting infrastructure and receive training on how to use it. Training is available but not limited to: Omeka, Scalar, Python, as well as more general topics such as digital mapping, data visualization, and text mining.

  • Department Copyright Training: 45-60 minute trainings presenting information about copyright laws; the intersection of copyright and education; best copyright practices for teaching in-person, hybrid, and online; and have their questions answered.
