Seriously, though, don't butt your head against a research wall for hours! We are geeks about research and we love to help!
This chat box connects you directly with the librarian at the Reference Desk during open hours. During the hours we are not open, this box connects you to a librarian at another Jesuit university! They can get into Gonzaga's library system just like a GU librarian can. And best of all, this chat is available 24/7. Crazy, huh?
You can also text us at 509-730-5979.
You can also schedule a 1-on-1 research consultation with a Foley librarian. To schedule an appointment, click here, and choose the librarian you want to meet with. You will be given a list of times that librarian can see you. Pick a time, and the appointment will automatically be added to the librarian's calendar. We'll both get an email confirmation. You can choose to meet either in-person or over Zoom. If you want to meet in person, show up on the day and time of your appointment and let the front desk know you're here to see a librarian.
Some helpful tips are to reach out to your liaison librarian. Every department/faculty has a librarian that works most with certain disciplines. They are your go-to librarian and will be more than happy to walk you through research strategies. Subject areas for librarians are listed next to their names in the librarian directory here. It also helps to provide as much detail as you can about your assignment or where you're stuck.
Someone will be at the Information Desk whenever the library is open, and there is always a professional librarian on-call. Tell the student or librarian at the desk that you are looking for some in-depth research help, and they'll hook you up!
