Open Educational Resources (OER) are learning, teaching and research materials in any format and medium that reside in the public domain or are under copyright that have been released under an open license, that permit no-cost access, re-use, re-purpose, adaptation and redistribution by others.

OER textbooks in nursing is somewhat new, but there are some really excellent resources available for faculty who are interested in using high quality resources that are zero-cost for students. In addition to OER textbooks, many sites have developed videos, simulations and games to help students learn clinical skills.
