"Christian Identity" in the Northwest:
Where White Supremacy and Religion Intersect

Curated by Amelia Skiles, Fall Semester 2022

This exhibit explores the ways in which Christian Identity groups use religion to justify and defend their bigotry and violence. These groups selectively interpret and twist the Bible to support their white supremacy and other hateful ideologies. It also looks at some of the reasons the Northwest has become a magnet for self-identified Christian white supremacists and their impact on local communities, including the criminal and violent activity they have engaged in.

Commercializing the Bible in Reformation-Era Germany

By Jonathan Hayes, Spring Semester 2022

Welcome to the dawn of printing. Gonzaga’s University Archives and Special Collections (UASC) houses hundreds of rare books dating back as early as the fifteenth century. The collection is invaluable to Gonzaga’s heritage and stands as the culmination of centuries of Jesuit libraries distilled into the vault in Foley’s third floor. In this exhibit, history major Jonathan Hayes has prepared a chronological tour from the first printed books through the seventeenth century
