Parsing Bibliographies

If you have a bibliography and quickly want to add the list of references to your Zotero library, you can use AnyStyle.io to parse your references and put them in a format that can be quickly uploaded to Zotero.

First, copy the bibliography to your clipboard by selecting the text and clicking CTRL+C, or by right-clicking and selecting Copy

Next, go to https://anystyle.io/ and paste your copied bibliography into the space where it says, Paste references here, and then click the Parse References button. Save in BibText format.

Once that has downloaded, simply open the file, and Zotero will automatically recognize this as a reference import. You can choose to make a new folder if you like. Once you hit Okay, the references will be added to your library.

Adding RSS Feeds

If you are interested in getting new research on a topic sent straight to your Zotero library, you can use the RSS feature

First, find the RSS feed you want to add. If you are looking on a journal website, look for the RSS symbol, right-click on the link, and click "Copy link address."

A list of share icons on the JAMA website, with the RSS icon highlighted.

Once you have that copied, you can head back to your Zotero library. In the top left, click on the New Library button, and select New Feed > From URL.

In the left Zotero panel, the New Library button has been activated, and a submenu showing "New Feed -- From URL" is highlighted.

Paste that URL you just copied into the appropriate box. Zotero should automatically retrieve a title for you, but you can rename it if you wish. Click Save. This will create a new feed in your Zotero library.
