Artist's Statement by Steven Prohira:
This project gave me a forum in which to explore the social impacts of evolutionary theory. Upon beginning to dig, I realized just how pervasive it is.
I had the privilege of working with a poet, Elizabeth Stauder, on this project. She provided beautiful words to work in conjunction with my woodblock prints, and our process was one of mutual discovery, with our work in constant dialogue. This book is the result of that dialogue.
