This video walks you through the process of downloading a book from eBook Central on a Gonzaga managed computer. Written instructions are included below.
Discover eBooks by searching in our Primo library catalog from the homepage of the search box on the left, or navigate directly to the eBook Central database linked at the top of this page.
Use the eBook Central search to search by title, keyword, subject, or author. 
When you locate a book you would like to read, click on the title of the book.
In the next screen you can chose to either Read Online to browse the book right away, or Download Book to continue to read later. Many of our eBooks are licensed for one user at a time, so if you want continued access to the title it is a good idea to download the book.
After clicking Download, you will then select what type of device you are on. Select I'm using my own computer, unless you are in a lab or on a library computer.
The next step is to install Adobe Digital Editions, which is a software intended for reading eBooks that provides copyright protection. If you are on a personal device you can install Adobe Digital Editions by clicking the orange Get Adobe Digital Editions button. However, for Gonzaga owned devices there is a little work around.
For Gonzaga owned computers, go to the Start Menu and type Software Center.
Software Center is a system managed by Gonzaga ITS that allows a select number of programs to be installed on Gonzaga managed computers without administrators credentials.
Select Adobe Digital Editions and install.
Back on eBook Central click Done with this step
Now you may need to select a loan length or file type, then click Download.
Then opt to either Save the file or Open With Adobe Digital Editions*.
*Some computer systems may default the acsm file types to open with a different program. If this happens, save the file, then navigate to the folder it is saved in, right click on the file, and select Open With, Adobe Digital Editions should be listed in the optional programs.
If it is not you may need to go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Digital Editions 4.5 select DigitalEditions.exe.
You can now read the book on your device, and the book will show in your library in Adobe Digital Editions.
